ZonalFit exists because the fitness industry has spent decades building for a generic user who doesn't exist. Workout apps give the same program to a 22-year-old college athlete and a 47-year-old woman in perimenopause. Cycle tracking apps tell you to "take it easy during your period" without offering actual programming. And when it comes to conditions like PCOS, endometriosis, or GLP-1 medication, the industry has nothing.
We built what should have existed already: a strength training platform that treats female biology as a feature, not an edge case.
I'm Mat, the founder and CEO of ZonalFit. I hold an MBA and a CrossFit Level 1 certification. Before ZonalFit, I spent years in business and technology, and I spent years coaching people through strength training.
The gap between what the research says about training women and what the fitness industry actually delivers is enormous. The science is clear: hormonal fluctuations change how women respond to training. Perimenopause and menopause require heavier loading, not lighter. Pregnancy demands trimester-specific modifications, not "just do what feels right." PCOS and endometriosis need condition-aware programming, not generic "low impact" suggestions.
I built ZonalFit because I got tired of watching the industry ignore what the research has been saying for over a decade. This platform implements the science that already exists. We didn't invent exercise physiology. We just finally built software that respects it.
Every programming decision traces back to a clinical guideline or peer-reviewed research. We don't follow fitness trends. ACSM, NSCA, ACOG, and APTA guidelines are our source of truth.
Your health data is yours. We don't sell it. We don't share it. We don't serve ads. We built our architecture around the principle that your body is not a business model.
Our engine is sophisticated, but you always have the final say. Daily check-ins let your lived experience override the programming. If you feel off, the workout adjusts. Your body knows more than any algorithm.
We partner with doctors of physical therapy, nurse practitioners, and clinical researchers. Our credibility comes from evidence, not follower counts. Every claim on this site is defensible.
"Zonal" refers to the zones of a woman's life that change how she trains: hormonal zones, life stage zones, injury zones, readiness zones. Every session exists at the intersection of these contexts. ZonalFit is training that knows which zone you're in, and builds accordingly.
ZonalFit is a product of Old Dog Ventures LLC, registered in Oregon. Our provisional utility patent covers the lifecycle-adaptive workout generation system, including the integration of reproductive lifecycle context with deterministic exercise programming.
